STAD and the Office of Human Resources invite faculty, staff, and administrators and their children to participate in JCU’s Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Thursday, April 28, 2011.
What is it about?
JCU’s Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day is based upon the national campaign, Take Our Daughters to Work Day, which was created in 1993 by the Ms. Foundation. This special event gives children the opportunity to go to work with a parent.
What is the purpose of the program?
The purpose of the program is to encourage, inspire, and introduce girls and boys to the workplace and empower them to dream without gender limitations. It also aims to help children to think imaginatively about their family, work, and community lives.
Who can attend?
Children, ages 8 through 15, are invited to participate.
What will the day include?
Attendees will participate in a variety of activities including demonstrations, tours, lunch, and job shadowing with their parent.
What to do now?
Please talk it over with your supervisor to get his/her approval for participation.
More information, including registration details, will be available soon.
