Fatima Fun Day–Friday, August 12

John Carroll faculty, staff, and administrators are invited to participate in a service project this summer. In our effort to engage our local community, we will focus on meeting children’s needs through Fatima Fun Day.

On Friday, August 12, the Fatima Family Center Day Camp Program will visit John Carroll for a Field Day sponsored by the Center for Service and Social Action and the Office of Mission and Identity. Events will range from foot races to hula hoop contests. Fatima Family Center’s Day Camp program provides activities and opportunities for 75 children age 5-12 years. The campers will arrive on campus at approximately 10 a.m. and depart campus at 3 p.m. FSA volunteers are needed to facilitate field day events. We will begin with a brief pre-reflection discussion and set up at 9 a.m.  A reflection on the day led by Paul Murphy will be followed by clean up. Everything concludes by 4 p.m.

We anticipate needing approximately 20 volunteers. If there is an excess of volunteers, those that sign up first will have priority. For staff and administrators, the time spent as an approved volunteer for this University sponsored event will be considered as time worked for the purposes of pay. The registration can be accessed at https://johncarrolluniversity.wufoo.com/forms/fatima-fun-day-friday-august-12-2011/. Please complete your registration by Friday, August 5 at 5 p.m. All respondents will be contacted regarding participation.
