Free anti-virus software for JCU students

John Carroll offers free anti-virus software to all JCU students.

We recommend strongly that you use an anti-virus software on your PC or laptop – whether it is Symantec Endpoint that we provide for free, or another anti-virus program that you prefer.

If you have just purchased a new computer or laptop it may have come pre-configured with a trial version of an anti-virus program that will expire! We urge you to replace the trial version with a permanent antivirus program.

To take advantage of JCU’s free anti-virus software please visit  http://symantec.jcu.edu

  • Please read the entire page to ensure that you are downloading the correct version of the software.
  • If you are off campus be sure to enter: campus\ in front of your username when prompted for your username (i.e. campus\mjones14) and then enter your campus password.

For Added Protection:

It is always a good practice to keep your Microsoft Windows operating system up to date with security patches. To check for updates please visit  http://update.microsoft.com and follow the prompts to select the appropriate updates.
