New cable TV system update

The old analog campus cable TV system was replaced this summer with a new digital system. As students have returned to campus it has come to our attention that some televisions and digital convertor boxes are experiencing audio or tuning problems with the new system. Examples of problems that have been reported include: channel numbers not tuning correctly, no audio or poor audio, and total failure of the TV to access the campus cable TV system.

We are working with the cable TV system equipment manufacturer to correct these issues. The manufacturer has engineers working around the clock to find a fix for these TVs as numerous schools nationwide are experiencing the same symptoms. We have been asked by the manufacturer to assist in gathering more information to troubleshoot the problems. If you are having either audio or tuning problems, please email bwilhelm@jcu.edu and he will email you a questionnaire to fill out.
