The turf is ready, the Blue Streaks are ready…let’s beat Case!

On Saturday, September 3, the John Carroll University Blue Streaks will host the Case Western Reserve University Spartans in a non-conference football game in what will be the 2011 season opener for both teams. This will be the one night game scheduled at Don Shula Stadium in 2011, and the first athletic contest played on the new turf installed this summer!

In a series that dates back 41 years, this will be the 19th meeting between the two neighborhood rivals, but only the third in the last 25 years. John Carroll leads the all-time series 9-8-1. The Blue Streaks claimed victory in 1988 with a 27-10 win, while Case knocked off the visiting Streaks last year 30-13.

The Carroll Crazies have events planned all the way up to kickoff, which is set for 7 p.m.

Check in the next few days for all details leading up to the 2011 JCU Football season opener!
