Music@Midday presents Di Tsvey – The Greenman/Rushefsky Duo, this Friday, September 23, at noon in the Inn Between. This concert of traditional Jewish and klezmer music features a pairing of the violin and tsimbl (Jewish hammered dulcimer) as rendered by two of the world’s leading masters of klezmer music. Steven Greenman (violin) and Pete Rushefsky (tsimbl) perform traditional music as well as new compositions rooted in the klezmer tradition.
Di Tsvey has performed in leading venues and festivals internationally, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Krakow Festival of Jewish Music and Culture, The Vienna KlezMore Festival, and Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw.
Join us and be transported back to a world of the Jewish shetls and cities of 19th and early 20th century Europe as we enjoy pieces from the Jewish wedding table (tish), lively dance music, and soulful nigunim (Jewish religious song).
This concert is supported by the Mandel Grant, 2011.
