Sister Barbara O’Donnell, H.M., will speak on “Catholic Perspectives on Climate Change” on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Jardine Room.
As data increases about global climate change, Catholic values motivate our concern for the future of all life communities. Join in conversation that integrates scripture, Catholic Social Teaching, and the work of the Catholic Coalition on Climate Change. Resources will be available. Questions explored will include:
Humility of Mary Sister Barbara O’Donnell completed training to serve as an Ambassador for the Catholic Coalition on Climate Change. She is a staff member with the Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center in Villa Maria, Pennsylvania, focusing on spirituality and ecological sustainability. Barbara earned an M.A. in religious education from LaSalle University, Philadelphia, and an M.A. in earth literacy from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, Terra Haute.
The lecture is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the John Carroll Program in Peace, Justice, and Human Rights.
