Paul L. Heck, Ph.D., is an associate professor of Islamic studies at Georgetown University, and former Tuohy Chair holder (2006-2007). He will lecture, as part of the Fifth Annual Week of Islamic Art and Culture, on “Ibn Khaldun: Muslim Humanist” on Wednesday, April 18, at 7 p.m. in the Donahue Auditorium.
Ibn Khaldun is the most important figure in the field of history and sociology in Islamic history. He has contributed richly to the understanding of civilization.
Heck’s lecture is being sponsored by the Tuohy Chair of Interreligious Studies and the Nursi Chair in Islamic Studies. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
