Sewing project to help hospice patients

The Center for Service and Social Action (CSSA) needs volunteers to sew fleece “pillow sleeves” in support of a Summer Orientation Service Project for incoming JCU freshmen and their families. Construction is very simple and only involves cutting the fleece to size and sewing a single seam. The fleece fabric is provided.

The pillow sleeves are stuffed and tied by students at Summer Orientation, and the completed pillows are donated to the Malachi House hospice facility, where they are used to relieve painful pressure points in bed-ridden patients. If you  would like to help with this project, please contact CSSA at service@jcu.edu or x4698.
