The Shula Lecture in Philosophy presents Chloe Taylor, Ph.D., assistant professor of philosophy and women’s studies at the University of Alberta, on Monday, Sept. 24, at 5:30 p.m. in the Donahue Auditorium of the Dolan Center for Science and Technology. Taylor will speak on Infamous, Men, Dangerous Individuals, and Violence Against Women: Feminist Rereadings of Foucault.
Taylor’s research interests include twentieth-century French philosophy, philosophy of sexuality, feminist philosophy, and animal ethics. She is the author of The Culture of Confession from Augustine to Foucault (Routledge 2008, 2010). Currently, she is working on two manuscripts, Bucolic Pleasures?: Foucault, Feminism, and Sex Crimes and Abnormal Appetites: Foucault and the Politics of Food.
