Regennia N. Williams, Ph.D., associate professor of history at Cleveland State University, will present a lecture on Zora Neale Hurston on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 27, 2012 in the Muer Room on the 3rd floor of Grasselli Library at 2 p.m.
Williams is the coordinator of the Watching God and Reading Hurston Conference being held Sept. 19-22, at Cleveland State University commemorating the 75th anniversary of the publication of Ms. Hurston’s acclaimed novel Their Eyes Were Watching God. Ms. Hurston was a major figure in the Harlem Renaissance literary and artistic movement and had a profound influence on many African American writers including Ralph Ellison, Toni Morrison, and Alice Walker.
