Please join us for our next Music@Midday concert this coming Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 12:05 p.m. in Saint Francis Chapel, where we will hear Music From South of the Border, featuring organ works of Spain, Mexico, and South America on our own Spanish Mellen Organ! (Please note the change of venue in order to use our unique organ.)
Dr. David Troiano, guest organist, has appeared in concerts throughout the United States, Canada, Italy, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and in some of the great Basilicas of Mexico including La Basilica in Mexico City.
With particular focus on the music of the Spanish Baroque and the Spanish-Speaking World, he has given lectures and recitals at AGO Regional Meetings, Symposiums of Spanish (Spain ‘10), and Latin American Music (Tucson ’09, ’11), and has published several articles on the subject in the US and Spain.
In May 2010, Dr. Troiano gave the Premier of TAU written by the Mexican Physician and Composer Armando Torres in Tlaxcala Mexico. He is currently collaborating with the American Composer Armando Bayolo on an original work to debut in 2013.
