The Shula Lectures in Philosophy presents Devonya N. Havis, Ph.D., assistant professor of philosophy at Canisius College, on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 5:30 p.m. in Donahue Auditorium. This lecture is free and open to the public.
Havis’ writings include, “Blackness Beyond Witness” in Philosophy and Social Criticism, and “Seeing Black through Michel Foucault’s Eyes: ‘Stand Your Ground’ Laws as an Anchorage Point for State-Sponsored Racism”, a chapter in a forthcoming book entitled, Pursuing Trayvon Martin: Historical Contexts and Contemporary Manifestations of Racial Dynamics.
