Today: All are invited to JCU’s first Global Family Dinner

Did you know that international students at John Carroll represent 33 different countries? Students, faculty, staff, and administrators are invited to learn more about some of these countries at John Carroll’s first Global Family Dinner.

Students will showcase the food and culture of their homelands on Thursday, Nov. 8, beginning at 4 p.m. in the Dining Hall. The night’s menu includes:

  • Spanish pizza
  • Coconut rice and chakalaka from South Africa
  • Currywurst from Germany
  • Chicken yassa, rice, braised greens, and corn from Senegal
  • Burmese chicken curry over rice from Myanmar
  • Shrimp dim sum from China
  • Bahn xeo from Vietnam
  • Borscht from Russia
  • Stewed beans from Belize
  • Palachinka from Croatia

Traditional and modern music from the countries will be played and a display with fact sheets and flags will allow you to learn more about each country.
