Today: Non-Violent Peacekeeping in South Sudan
The Peace, Justice, and Human Rights Program presents Mel Duncan, founding executive director and current advocacy and outreach director of Non-Violent Peaceforce, on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 7 p.m. in the Jardine Room. Duncan will discuss his work in the world’s newest country, South Sudan, and its relevance for genocide prevention.
The Non-Violent Peaceforce’s mission is to promote, develop, and implement unarmed civilian peacekeeping as a tool for reducing violence and protecting civilians. Duncan has 40 years’ experience organizing and advocating nonviolently for peace, justice, and the environment.
This event is free and open to the public.
