Today: RecPlex power shutdown – Jan. 3, 2013

Power will be shutdown to all areas of the RecPlex and Student Activity Center at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, for the replacement of an electrical transformer as part of the Facilities Preventive Maintenance program. The shutdown is expected to last 8 to 10 hours.

This power outage will only affect the Student Activity Center and Recreation Center. It will include all offices in these buildings as well as the DeCarlo and Intramural Gyms, Schott Dining Hall, and the Natatorium. All other campus buildings will have power and will not be affected.

The date and time of the shutdown were selected to minimize impact on the general JCU community and the winter athletic programs. Occupants of the RecPlex are encouraged to save their work, shut down their computers and plan to work without power and lights or leave the building before 4 p.m. Only emergency lighting and life safety power will be available.

We expect normal power to be restored by midnight and the RecPlex to be open and fully operational on Friday morning, Jan. 4. We apologize for any inconvenience this planned outage may cause.

Please contact Gary Paoletta at extension 4300 or gpaoletta@jcu.edu with questions or concerns.
