Today: Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

John Carroll University invites you to our our Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration featuring Roy L. Brooks on Thursday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m., in the Donahue Auditorium of the Dolan Science Center.

Roy L. Brooks examines the idea of racial justice in the context of a complex 21st century society. The election of Barack Obama as the 44th president of the United States ushers in many new questions: What does the “Age of Obama” mean for racial justice in America? Does excellence eclipse race in in Obama’s America? Has the election of a black president brokered new opportunities for Black America? Brook addresses these questions in his new book “Racial Justice in the ‘Age of Obama.'”

A reception will immediately follow the program.
