Worldwide one in three women will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. One billion women violated is an atrocity. One billion women dancing is a revolution. On Feb. 14 one billion women and those who love them are invited to rise up and dance in solidarity to demand an end to this violence. A song, “Break the Chain,” was written and choreographed for this movement.
Practices to learn the dance will be held in the Murphy Room on Monday, Feb. 11, from noon–1 p.m., and Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 8–9 p.m. We are also in need of people willing to hold posters during the dances on Feb. 14. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in participating.
