Diana Židová, currently scholar-in-residence at John Carroll University, will give a presentation, “Slovak-American Writers:
Little Known or Not At All,” on the doctoral research concerning Slovak-American writers she has been doing at the University since Feb. 2. Her presentation will be on Wednesday, April 17, at 7 p.m. in the Dolan Center for Science and Technology, Rooms A202-A203.
Židová is a doctoral candidate at the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, Slovakia. Her doctoral research at John Carroll has been funded through SAIA (Slovenská akademická informačná agentura/The Slovak Academic Information Agency).
Židová received a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Slovak and English Language and Literature from the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra. For six months, beginning in January 2009, she also studied English literature at Middlesex University in London through a European Union Erasmus Scholarship.
In 2011 Židová was the only graduate student selected to do doctoral study in the Department of English and American Studies in Nitra.
