Congratulations to the John Carroll University Army ROTC Wolfpack Battalion team of 16 members that performed so well in the Mountain Man Memorial March on April 19-20 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee!
The MMMM consists of events for both runners and marchers, military and civilian participants, teams and individuals. Heavy categories and Light categories have uniform and ruck sack weight requirements.
John Carroll University ROTC earned 3rd place overall in the Team Military Heavy Half March, where all competitors consist of five-member teams. In the Runner Full Marathon, Cadet Eric Vennaro (CWRU) earned 1st place in his gender/age group, and Cadet Caitlin Callaghan (JCU) earned 3rd place in her gender/age group. Cadet Gavin Aydelotte (CWRU) earned 10th place overall in the Individual Military Heavy Full. In the Individual Military Heavy Half, Cadet Mason Morrow (JCU) earned 2nd place, Cadet Robert Bailie (Hiram) placed 10th, and Cadet Sean Rabbitt (JCU) placed 11th. Lieutenant Colonel Donald Hazelwood, Battalion Commander, earned 2nd place overall in the Individual Military Light Full.
The Mountain Man Memorial March honors the sacrifices of our American service members and their families. One of the event’s goals is to provide scholarship grants to Gold Star Family members.
