JCU-EMS will be holding a simulated mass casualty scenario for training in the Varsity Gym on Sunday, Sept. 15, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. JCU-EMS, University Heights Fire Department, and Campus Police will respond to the scenario as they would a real mass casualty emergency. This is a chance for local emergency response teams to prepare for an unexpected disaster on campus.
The drill will include persons with makeup to simulate various injuries, and responders reacting as they would in a real crisis. There will be fire, EMS, and police staff, vehicles, and equipment in the area. This exercise aims to prepare University and local responders to better respond during a real crisis.
Don’t be alarmed if you see what appears to an emergency around the Varsity Gym this Sunday – it is only a drill.
