If so, this individual and their families/caretakers are invited to join the Center for Service and Social Action for Danie’s Day on Feb. 22, 2014.
Sponsored by Students for Social Justice and Sigma Phi Epsilon and in partnership with Northeast Ohio’s The Up Side of Downs, Danie’s Day is a special event in memory of Danielle Rose, class of 2015. Danielle was an Arrupe Scholar, whose passions were rooted in helping children, like her sister, April, who has Down syndrome.
Danielle always put others before herself, and selflessly committed her time to enhance the lives of mentally and physically challenged youth. Danielle passed away in September 2012 and her classmates decided to establish an event to keep her commitment to those with disabilities alive. They chose to reestablish Project H.O.P.E., a JCU event that supports individuals with developmental disabilities that ended in 2010. The event was called Danie’s Day, and Danie’s legacy lives on.
Encourage families/caretakers of individuals with Down Syndrome to participate in Danie’s Day this Spring. They can register at http://go.jcu.edu/danie.
