John Carroll faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate in a Day of Caring on Wednesday, March 26, at one of JCU’s community partners, Eliza Bryant Village, the first African American nursing home in the country. In order for the facility to move the residents of four units to new rooms, they have asked for JCU’s assistance. Volunteers are needed to transport residents from their original rooms to a multi-purpose room to entertain them for a period of time (one-two hours each) while their rooms are being prepared. JCU volunteers will engage the residents in crafts, singing, bingo, conversation, and other activities. Transportation will be provided.
For faculty and staff, the Day of Caring qualifies for JCU’s Staff Mission Leave.
