Cressida J. Heyes, Ph.D., is professor of philosophy and political science and Canada research chair in philosophy of gender and sexuality at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. She teaches and writes on feminist philosophy, philosophy of the body, and the politics of health and illness. Dr. Heyes is the author of “Line Drawings: Defining Women Through Feminist Practice” (Cornell University Press, 2000), and “Self-Transformations: Foucault, Ethics, and Normalized Bodies” (Oxford University Press, 2007).
