Seventh Annual Week of Islamic Art and Culture: Monday

The Nursi Chair in Islamic Studies will be hosing JCU’s Seventh Annual Week of Islamic Art and Culture from March 23-27. Today’s events include:

  • At 10 a.m. a demonstration of the traditional Islamic art of marbling, or ebru, will be given by Mrs. Tulin Olgun in the Donahue Auditorium.
  • “A Different Kind of Striving: Jihad as Peacemaking” at 7 p.m. in Donahue Auditorium with Asma Afsaruddin, Ph.D., chair and professor in the Department of Near Eastern Languages & Cultures and an adjunct professor in the Department of Religious Studies at Indiana University. Refreshments will be served after the talk.
