The next American Red Cross Blood Drive, sponsored by the Department of Military Science/Army ROTC, will be held Wednesday, March 26, and Thursday, March 27, from noon to 7 p.m. in the Murphy Room. Be sure to review the guidelines so that your blood can be used.
Before donating, have a good breakfast or lunch and drink extra water and fluids. Eat iron rich foods. Avoid caffeine and fatty foods. If there is too much fat in your blood, your donation cannot be tested for infectious diseases and the blood will not be used.

For double red cell donors, male donors must be at least 5’1” and weigh at least 130 lbs. and female donors must be at least 5’5” and weigh at least 150 lbs. Higher requirements may apply in certain cases.
After donating, immediately have a snack and drink in the refreshments area. Rehydrate by drinking plenty of fluids over the next 24-48 hours. Avoid strenuous physical activity or heavy lifting for about five hours after donation.
Donors coming to the blood drive will receive a coupon for either a free Chipotle burrito or a free Bruegger’s bagel.
