Today: Faculty Workshop: Responding to a Disclosure of Interpersonal Violence

Presented By: Sherri Crahen, Ph.D., dean of students
Stephanie Cerula, program coordinator of the Violence Prevention and Action Center
Kirsti Mouncey, vice president of client & clinical services, Cleveland Rape Crisis Center

Workshop will discuss the steps to take when a student discloses an incident of sexual violence, relationship violence, or stalking.

Topics will include:

  • Mandatory reporting requirements– what do I have to report, to whom, and how quickly.
  • Reflecting on our initial words and actions to ensure a consistent and supportive response.
  • Resources available on and off campus.
  • Impact of trauma on survivors.
  • Title IX duty to report.
