There will be a Staged Reading of Euripides’ play “Alcestis” at 8 p.m. on July 25 and 26 in Rodman A. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Alcestis may be the first “modern” play because it mixes tragedy and comedy. Nobly taking her husband’s place in death, Queen Alcestis of Thessaly is about to be carried off by Thanatos, Priest of the Dead, when her grieving husband Admetos and the great hero Hercules intervene.
