Humanities Advising Workshop

Join your colleagues, Dr. Dan Kilbride, Dr. Peter Kvidera, Dr. John McBratney, Dr. Martha Pereszlenyi-Pinter, and Dr. Dianna Taylor over some light refreshments for a lively conversation about advising for the liberal arts and further, participants will discuss liberal arts learning at JCU. Advising is more than helping students pick courses to satisfy college requirements. Ideally, an advisor helps a student think more largely about their future life and career. What awaits them upon graduation? Addressing this topic is particularly vexed for students who are not enrolled in a pre-professional major. What are the practical benefits of a liberal arts degree? This workshop will help equip faculty, particularly faculty in the Humanities, to address these topics in advising conversations.
