We are excited to have another wonderful group of new international students coming to John Carroll this August. Eight members of the JCU community have volunteered to host, but we want to make sure that every international student has the support of a host family. We need your help!
As a host family for our international students, the required time commitment is very little. Our students will be arriving on Tuesday, August 18, and Wednesday, August 19, and must move into the dorms by the start of orientation on the morning of Friday, August 21. Traditionally, we have asked that host families provide accommodations for their students for one or two nights. However, to offer greater flexibility, we are also seeking host families who can assist the students who choose to stay in the dorms before orientation.
During the time before orientation, students will likely need to go shopping for items they did not bring with them and to set up their dorm rooms. We ask that host families assist students with these tasks. After that, your level of commitment and engagement with your international student is whatever you and they are interested in.
Our international students often mention our friendly campus community. Help show the new international students the warmth of JCU and become a host family.
