Spirituality Group is Starting a New Book

Our Spirituality Group is starting a new book. We meet every Thursday morning beginning September 3 at 8:00 a.m. in the Campus Ministry Conference Room.  It’s a short (30-45 minute) gathering so that participants can get back to their offices on time. I purchased copies of “The Seven Story Mountain: an Autobiography of Faith,” by Thomas Merton.

Amazon.com says this about the book: “The Seven Storey Mountain is one of the most influential religious works of the twentieth century. It tells of the growing restlessness of a brilliant and passionate young man whose search for peace and faith leads him, at the age of twenty-six, to take vows in one of the most demanding Catholic orders–the Trappist monks. At the Abbey of Gethsemani, “the four walls of my new freedom,” Thomas Merton struggles to withdraw from the world, but only after he has fully immersed himself in it.”

It’s a book that should spark some good discussion. Feel free to stop by and pick up a copy or wait until the meeting. Invite others along for the ride!
