Liturgical Music and Musical Arts is delighted to announce that the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society is now in residence at John Carroll University. The Cleveland Classical Guitar Society is a rapidly growing, non-profit organization that presents concerts featuring the finest classical musicians from around the world, as well as an education program that brings daily classical ensemble classes to 100 economically disadvantaged youth in Cleveland and Akron.
As a part of this residency, the Guitar Society will offer musical events and programs on JCU’s campus, both to our students and campus community. This programming will include master classes, open recitals and the opportunity to purchase tickets to their concerts at deeply discounted prices.
The first of these concerts is a presentation by Croatian guitarist Ana Vidovic on October 24, 2015 at 7:30pm at Plymouth Church UCC, 2860 Coventry Rd, Shaker Heights. Ms Vidovic has performed over 1000 concerts on 5 continents, including all of the world’s major cities, since her career began at the age of 8. Her 6 CDs, 2 DVDs, and flawless performances have earned her an enormous following worldwide. More information: http://cleguitar.org/event/ana-vidovic/
The Office of Student Engagement will cover the ticket cost for any JCU student who is interested in attending the concert, thanks to a generous discount provided by the Cleveland Classical Guitar Society. If you would like to attend the concert, please contact Kyle O’Dell at kodell@jcu.edu by Thursday, October 22 at 5:00 p.m.
