On November 13 and 14, the Bediuzzaman Said Nursi Chair in Islamic Studies will be hosting a conference titled Spiritual Jihad: A Path for the 21st Century? On Friday, November 13, Michael Sells, Ph.D. from the University of Chicago will deliver the keynote address “Umm Musa: Revelation, Struggle, and Speaking Truth to Power in the Qur’anic accounts of the life of Moses” at 7:00 p.m. in the Donahue Auditorium of the Dolan Science Center.
On Saturday, November 14, the conference will run from 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in the Donahue Auditorium with twelve speakers exploring the theological foundations, historical manifestations and future possibilities of Spirtual Jihad for Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
