Renowned Russian poet Sergey Gandlevsky is coming to give a reading in Cleveland and will visit JCU on Friday, November 13 at noon, in the O’Dea Room, in the Lombardo Student Center.
A poll of Russian critics named him “The most important living Russian poet” a few years ago, and he’s a force of nature, reciting all his poems with a gravity that is otherworldly. Phil Metres will be providing translations (either oral or hand copies), mostly from A Kindred Orphanhood: Selected Poems of Sergey Gandlevsky, but also from new works.
