2016 Celebration of Scholarship and Poster Competition Applications Now Available

We cordially invite you to take part in John Carroll’s annual “Celebration of Scholarship,” which will take place the week of April 11, 2016. The entire John Carroll community is welcome–undergraduates and graduate students, faculty, staff, and administrators. “Celebration” offers a variety of opportunities for sharing scholarly work already completed or still in progress–paper and panel presentations, poster sessions, performance art, and artistic exhibits.

The Poster Competition is now available to undergraduates and graduate students. In response to feedback received last year, 10 undergraduate submissions will be designated Posters of Special Merit and their creators awarded $50 each. All undergraduate student research projects are eligible for the Competition, including those mentored from outside John Carroll. In addition, one award of $50 will be given to a graduate student for a Poster of Special Merit. See details on the Celebration website.

The deadline for the Poster Session and Poster Competition, and the Paper/Panel presentations is February 22, 2016. Applications for Panel Sessions are confirmed as they are received and as space is available. Apply early to reserve your spot!

The “Arts at Night” is coordinated by Cynthia Caporella, Ph.D., director of Liturgical Music and Musical Art, and Philip Metres, Ph.D., Department of English. Contact Dr. Caporella or Dr. Metres for information about performing at “Arts at Night,” which will take place on Monday, April 11, at 9:00 p.m. in the Underground. Information about deadlines for the Art Exhibit will be forthcoming.

Please visit the Celebration website for information about presenting and applying: http://sites.jcu.edu/celebration/pages/information-for-applicants/

We look forward to “Celebrating” with you next April.
