The Celebration of Scholarship Poster Competition for 2016 is now open to all John Carroll undergraduate and graduate students.
Prizes denoting a Research Poster of Special Merit will be awarded as follows:
10 Awards of $50 each to undergraduate students
1 Award of $50 to a graduate student
Posters entered into the competition will be reviewed by judges based on criteria that focus on the oral presentation, familiarity with the research, and poster design.
The Poster Competition judging will occur during the Celebration’s Poster Session on the evening of Monday, April 11, 2016.
New this year: poster presenters will be randomly assigned to present in either Group A from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. or Group B from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m. Students will be expected to attend the entire poster session (5:30 to 7:00 p.m.) but need only present during their assigned time.
Students can select to be included in the Poster Competition by completing the application for the Poster Session and checking the box for the competition.
Eligibility rules: Students must present their own research project. Projects may be submitted by a group of John Carroll students (if selected, the group agrees that the $50 prize will be divided equally among all John Carroll students listed on the poster) or individual students working with a John Carroll faculty sponsor or an outside sponsor (in which case the $50 will be awarded in its entirety to the John Carroll student). The research must have been completed between May 2015 and April 2016.
Winners are expected to enter a digital copy of their poster into the Carroll Collected Celebration archive.
