Some estimate that Americans may use about 20 teaspoons of added sugar a day. Sweeteners are often added to beverages, syrups and snacks to their enhance flavor. These added sugars are calorie dense and provide no nutritional value. Join us in the cafeteria on Wednesday, February 10 for a display of the sugar content of many popular beverages and desserts served in the cafeteria. JCU’s dietitian Karin Palmer will be available from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. to answer any of your questions.
