Today: Is There a Nuclear Weapon in Your Backyard?

Buried under the farms and prairies of the nation’s heartland—near schools, churches, and shopping centers—are 450 intercontinental ballistic missiles armed with nuclear warheads. Why are they there? What threat do they pose? How are communities responding to their presence?

Join John LaForge of Nukewatch on Wednesday, March 9 for a discussion and book signing of the newly released book “Nuclear Heartland: A Guide to the 450 Land-based Missiles of the United States.”

LaForge will speak Wednesday, March 9 at 5:30 pm in the Donahue Auditorium of the Dolan Science Center.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase for $25 (tax included) at the event. Learn more about Nukewatch at www.nukewatchinfo.org.

Sponsored by the Office of Campus Ministry, the Program in Peace, Justice and Human Rights, and the Department of Theology & Religious Studies.
This event is free and open to the public.
