In addition to the master class on campus, Łukasz Kuropaczewski is performing a concert off campus on Saturday, March 12 at Plymouth Church UCC, 2860 Coventry Rd, Shaker Heights. He will be joined by accordionist Maciej Frąckiewicz, which will be the duo’s first Cleveland performance. The Cleveland Classical Guitar Society is offering discounted tickets to the JCU community as part of their residency for the duo. JCU students can receive $5 tickets (a discount of $15) and faculty and staff can receive $15 tickets (a discount of $10). Maciej Frackiewicz has received many awards and prizes, including “Polityka’s Passport” award (2013) and 1st prize at the prestigious “Arrasate Hiria” International Accordion Competition in Spain (2012). He regularly performs as soloist with leading orchestras in Poland, as well as with his numerous duo projects.
Lukasz Kuropaczewski attended the Peabody Conservatory of Music of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, where he studied under the tutelage of world-renowned musician Manuel Barrueco. He has has toured extensively in Europe, USA, Canada, South America and Japan. Also, he has appeared in music centers in Poland, Czech Republic, Belarus, Germany, France, Spain, Hungary, Canary Islands, Iceland, Greece, England, Japan, Panama, Canada and the USA.
