Week of Islamic Art and Culture at JCU
The Bediuzzaman Said Nursi Chair in Islamic Studies is proud to sponsor the Ninth Annual Week of Islamic Art and Culture at JCU from April 18-22.
Monday, April 18, there will be a showing of the film, Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World
Tuesday, April 19, the film Cities of Light: The Rise and Fall of Islamic Spain will be shown
Friday, April 22, Ali Asani, Ph.D., who is Professor of Indo-Muslim and Islamic Religion and Cultures and the Director of the Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Islamic Studies Program at Harvard University will present a talk entitled: “God is Beautiful and Loves Beauty: Fostering Literacy About Islam Through the Arts.”
