Rev. Donald Cozzens will be retiring at the end of this semester. Members of Campus Ministry, Department of Theology & Religious Studies, and Institute of Catholic Studies would like to invite members of the John Carroll Community to stop by and wish him well on his retirement at a farewell reception on Thursday, April 28 from 3-5 p.m. in the O’Dea Room in the D.J. Lombardo Student Center.
Fr. Cozzens came to John Carroll in August 2002 as a visiting professor in the Department of Theology & Religious Studies. In 2004 he received an appointment as Writer-in-Residence while continuing to teach in the Theology & Religious Studies department. Among the courses that Fr. Cozzens has taught in the department over the years at John Carroll, “Christian Sexuality” and “Thomas Merton & Dorothy Day” were the favorites among his students. Along with his writing and teaching, Fr. Cozzens especially enjoyed the 9pm Sunday mass and meeting with students as a pastoral counselor.
Please stop by to offer your best wishes to our good friend, teacher, and counselor as he embarks on a new chapter in his life.
Thank you, Fr. Cozzens! We will miss you!
