On Thursday, April 28, at 6 p.m. in AD 258 there will be a general interest meeting for students interested in participating in a service project in the Dominican Republic in May of 2017. Those who join this trip will be working with the NGO Caminante, delivering history lessons to at-risk Haitian and Dominican children. Caminante is dedicated to empowering children who are susceptible to human trafficking in the DR. Students who join this trip must plan on enrolling in the Spring class, HS 197, History of the Caribbean (ISJ/ II R). We will spend 10 days (May 22 to June 1) in Boca Chica at the Caribbean beachside Hotel Zapata.
