Mission Leave Opportunity: Serve as a Judge for We the People

The We the People Service-Learning Program offers an upcoming mission leave opportunity. We are looking for 16 volunteers to serve as judges for the culminating Youth for Justice Summit.

On Friday, May 6, 128 eighth graders from Cleveland and East Cleveland will present their action plans on solving a topic of injustice during the Youth for Justice Summit on campus. JCU tutors have worked all year with the students to identify issues of injustice in their schools and communities in order to create action plans on how to address the specific issue. Volunteers are needed to serve as Judges.

• Judges are assigned to a team of three; judges will listen to presentations, give feedback and gauge the impact of the students’ plan on the community. Training is provided the morning of the event.
• Time: 8:45 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Friday, May 6, 2016
• Approved mission leave event – supervisor approval needed
