Dr. Amy Hoffman will be retiring at the end of this semester. Members of the Department of Education & School Psychology would like to invite members of the John Carroll Community to stop by and wish her well on her retirement at a reception on Wednesday, May 11 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Faculty Lounge, Administration Building.
In 1976 Dr. Hoffman joined the university and the department, and in 1987 she achieved the rank of professor. She served as chair and interim chair and has held other leadership roles in the department. Having taught primarily literacy courses in our undergraduate and graduate initial licensure programs, Amy contributed to the strength of our reading program at JCU. For many years, Amy served as faculty supervisor and was a wonderful mentor to our interns during their clinical practice. She was instrumental in establishing our Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District Partnership. Over her long career at JCU, Amy has published numerous articles on teacher preparation and presented at over 50 local, state and national conferences.
We will miss her leadership, sure and steady positive influence, a colleague who has contributed much to the department and to the university.
