Today: Retirement Reception for Pete Bernardo

Pete Bernardo will be retiring May 31, 2016, after serving John Carroll University for more than 30 years. Members of the John Carroll Community are invited to stop by and wish him well at a reception on Thursday, May 26, from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge on the third floor of Rodman Hall.

Pete served JCU as a professor of Military Science and Chair of the Department from 1983-1988, growing the program into the fourth largest in Ohio. In 1987, Pete became the director of alumni relations after retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army. His military honors and decorations include the Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star, and three Purple Hearts.

Pete is currently working on his third degree from John Carroll. He received a B.S. in Chemistry in 1968, an M.S. degree in 1972 with a concentration in Physics, and he hopes to complete a Master’s in Theology within the next year.

He also has agreed to work for JCU part-time next year on his specific donor and alumni relationships

Please stop by to offer your best wishes to our good friend and colleague, as he embarks on a new chapter in his life.

Thank you, Pete. We will miss you!
