Join us for our annual Cleveland Neighborhood Project! As part of Living the Mission Day, we are looking for approximately 20 faculty and staff to join 150 members of the incoming Class of 2020 and 40 student leaders on Thursday, August 25, for a day of service at Fatima Family Center, Eliza Bryant Village, and the surrounding Hough neighborhood.
Volunteering for The Cleveland Neighborhood Project is an opportunity for faculty and staff to accompany teams of first-year students as they work to improve the Hough neighborhood. It is also a University-sponsored event and is eligible for the use of Mission Leave (see University Mission & Identity’s “Mission Leave Opportunities” page at http://sites.jcu.edu/mission/pages/mission-leave-opportunities/).
A “Living the Mission Day” t-shirt, transportation to and from campus, snacks, and a boxed lunch will be provided. The day will begin with an on-campus send-off address at 8:30 a.m. in Kulas Auditorium, with the buses leaving by 9 a.m. and returning to campus mid-afternoon.
This is a great chance to join us in introducing the service component of JCU’s mission to our first-year students and to begin building relationships with the newest members of our campus community.
Please register at: http://sites.jcu.edu/service/pages/special/cnp/leaders/ by Thursday, August 18! Contact Sr. Katherine Feely with questions at service@jcu.edu.
