Probable Demand Response or Peak Capacity Energy Conservation Events

Temperatures across the region and eastern half of the country are expected to be in the 90s today and Friday, possibly hitting 100 degrees in some east coast cities. Based on these forecasts, we fully expect that Demand Response or Capacity Peak events will be called for today and Friday with possibilities for events early next week.

The University will reduce electricity loads between 3 and 6 p.m. today and Friday. The electricity load reduction will be limited in buildings where classes are scheduled.

For information on how these events will affect your work space, please refer to the Summer Energy Conservation website at:

Additional updates will be provided through Inside JCU on Monday, July 25, and on a regular basis as we move into the warmest part of the summer.
