BREATHE, BOOM by Kia Corthron
What happens to a dream deferred? Growing up in a dysfunctional home can have its limits. For sixteen year old Prix, the beauty of fireworks and living in the streets as a gang member is her escapism. Prix unflinching life spans a 14-year journey that leads into meeting new friends, detention centers, prisons and encountering old ghosts.

THE DENNIS LANE STUDENT DIRECTED ONE-ACTS
THE DRAPES COME by Charles Dizenzo
There are many things that can bring the worst out of people – waiting is one of them. THE DRAPES COME shows what the direct and contentious Barbara Fiers and her meek and reclusive mother do while they wait for drapes the mother ordered that morning to arrive. However, as the play goes on, the two practically trade personalities back and forth while they wait. As this trade-off continues, an uncomfortable reality sets in.
Cast: 2 females

DMV TYRANT by Christopher Durang
As author Christopher Durang has noted, “we all live in fear of places like the Division of Motor Vehicles.” The highly relatable incident of a customer attempting to renew their license is an everyday scene turned to comical realism. The show opens at a DMV window, at which little progress is made by either party, as remarks are exchanged and no license is (ever) issued. This breezy, sardonic show is fast-paced and relies on quick wit and expert timing.
Cast: 2 people (not gender specific but would prefer 1 male/1 female)

CHECK PLEASE by Jonathan Rand
Dating can be hard. Especially when your date happens to be a raging kleptomaniac, or your grandmother’s bridge partner, or a mime. CHECK PLEASE follows a series of blind dinner dates that couldn’t get any worse-until they do. Could there possibly be a light at the end of the tunnel?
Cast: 2 males and 2 females

Audition Times: Thursday, September 8: 7-10p.m.
Friday, September 9: 4-6 p.m.
Saturday, September 10: 4:30 -6:30 p.m.

** One-Acts auditions will be held in Marinello Little Theatre

Scripts can be picked up in OC 45 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. after September 1
