As you may be aware, the lithium batteries in Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones have been linked to numerous fires and personal injuries across the globe. Samsung Electronics Co. has announced its recall of all Galaxy Note7 smartphones and is discontinuing the manufacturing of the device. If you own a Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, Samsung is advising all customers to power down the smartphone immediately and contact the carrier or retail outlet where the phone was purchased. Until the fire and safety issues related to the Galaxy Note 7 smartphones are eliminated, these phones should not be used or kept on University premises, which includes the interior of University buildings and vehicles.
