It’s been estimated that added sugars account for about 13 percent our calorie intake. On average this is about an additional 300 calories per day. The major source of added sugars are from beverages, snacks and sweets. Join us in the cafeteria today, Wednesday, October 26, for a display of the sugar content of many popular beverages and desserts served in the cafeteria. JCU’s dietitian Karin Palmer will be available from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. to answer any of your questions and discuss potential options for reducing your intake of added sugars.
